PT Statoil Indonesia Karama AS
The Karama PSC was awarded to Statoil and partners Pertamina in March 2007. The Block covers an area of just under 5000 sqkm and lies in deepwater, West of Sulawesi, Indonesia. The block was won on a firm work commitment of the acquisition and processing of 1900 sqkm of 3D seismic data and the drilling of 3 exploration wells.
Acquiring of 2400 sq km of 3D seismic data started in April 2008 and is expected finish in July 2008. The 3D data processing contract and the final processing products are expected to be delivered in January 2009. It is anticipated that two exploration wells will be drilled in 2010 and one in 2011. From 2009 to 2011 the interpretation of the seismic data, the mapping of the resource potential and the choice of 3 drilling locations will be undertaken.
The successful candidate will play a central role in the subsurface evaluation of the Karama Block and in the planning and monitoring of the three exploration wells.
Chief Geophysicist
(Jakarta Raya - Jakarta Selatan)
The candidate must be able to demonstrate experience in the following skills:
2D and 3D seismic interpretation and mapping.
Evaluation of deepwater clastic reservoirs using seismic and well log data.
Geophysical attribute analysis, including seismic LFP.
Depth conversion.
Use of subsurface software including Seisworks 2D & 3D, Stratworks, GeoX, ArcGis, Paradigm Explorer and Hampson Russel software.
Requirements:
The candidate must have a minimum of:
10 years experience in prospect mapping, generation and resource estimation in deepwater clastic settings worldwide with experience form StatoilHydro’s deepwater operations and evaluations in Norway, West of Shetlands, West Africa, East Africa, India, Indonesia or the Gulf of Mexico.
He or she will be expected to have a leading technical role in the field of geophysisics and to undertake technical work on the Karama project.
An important aspect of the post is the transfer his or her experience to local Indonesian subsurface staff and Pertamina secondees during this period.
The candidate should have good links into the StatoilHydro technical networks in Seismic Interpretation, Lithology and Fluid prediction, Seismic Acquisition and Processing and Project Evaluation. He or she and be able to draw on the companies worldwide technical expertise as appropriate.
The candidate should be experienced in presentation to internal management and QC groups, partners and authorities.
The position will be on an expatriate basis and located in StatoilHydro’s office in Jakarta, Indoensia. Start date is anticipated as January 2009.
