Islamic Relief - Banda Aceh Office
Islamic Relief was founded in 1984 in the United Kingdom and currently works in over 30 countries providing support to those in need regardless of race, religion, ethnic, or political affiliations.
Because of its existence in Indonesia, Islamic Relief was able to respond in Aceh just one day after the Tsunami struck in 2004. Since then, Islamic Relief has constructed houses, schools, health clinics and numerous projects aimed at supporting the recovery of over 100,000 Tsunami-affected people Aceh.
Islamic Relief seeks to hire committed and experienced persons for the following positions:
1. SOCIAL MOBILIZATION OFFICER
(3 positions – Base in Aceh Besar and Aceh Jaya)
Main duties and responsibilities :
Mobilize, interact, and dialogue with individuals and small groups of selected communities to promote civic responsibility and sense of ownership.
Facilitate small and large community meetings to encourage discussions and thorough thinking by local communities to analyze local problems and local solutions.
Conduct awareness and socialization programmes in local communities
Necessary qualifications :
Degree in social science from reputable university, and at least 3 years of experience in related field.
Excellent interpersonal skills, creative, highly motivated, and able to express ideas clearly.
Knowledge of participatory approaches and techniques
Excellent English language skills
Prior work with NGOs or international organizations is a plus
2. AREA COORDINATOR FOR CALANG & MEULABOH
Nangroe Aceh Darussalam
Overall Responsibility
The area coordinator is responsible for overall management and functioning (financial, administrative, logistic, and programmatic) of the sub-office Meulaboh. He/she also represents Islamic Relief to host government officials and donors.
Main duties and responsibilities :
Day-to-day management and functioning of the sub-office, to ensure that effective and efficient programmatic, financial, administrative and logistic procedures are established and followed by all sub-office staff.
He/she will be initially tasked with reviewing and refining banking, supply, utility, housing, etc. arrangements and systems in the sub-office and making recommendations for improvement
Responsible for ensuring that sub-office programmes are always in compliance with donor requirements and that regular progress reports (monthly & quarterly) are submitted to the Program Manager.
Close collaboration with the other programme team, develop evaluation and monitoring tools and conduct quarterly reviews to enhance measuring change/impact of IR interventions funding that support the implementation of projects
Assist the Program Manager in preparing and managing local and sub-contractors for outsourcing Administrative requirements
Responsible for personnel management of sub-office staff, including hiring and orienting new staff and developing ongoing staff development opportunities ensuring increasing professionalism of the staff. He/She will ensure that all staff are qualified for their posts and that all personnel management practices are compliant with the Indonesia Labour Laws.
Prepare Travel and Leave plans, ensure that leave requests as well as travel requests agree with the procedures
To actively participate in major procurement in the projects and the purchase of office equipment and supplies ions etc
Necessary qualifications :
Degree in any discipline from reputable university, and at least 5 years of experience in related field.
Excellent interpersonal skills, creative, highly motivated, and able to express ideas clearly.
Strong leadership ability is a must
Excellent English language skills
Prior work with NGOs or international organizations is a plus.
